Bonadrag

These pieces from Bonadrag have really inspired me to start blogging again. I am literally obsessed with the first necklace. It reminds me of the Day of the Dead skulls. I love how chunky this necklace is, and it really makes a strong statement.
The second ring here is very simple. It reads "May it watch O'er you" in its mirror image. It was inspired by a 19th century wax seal that was found in a shop in Glasgow, Scotland. I love how such a simple ring can have such meaning to it.
The third piece of clothing reminds me of architecture and tribal signs at the same time. The bright colors catch my eye. I think this shirt/cloak/dress really speaks for itself.
The last sweater is cool and edgy. The detail is unique and its bubble shape makes it easy for anyone to wear.

uninterested

I have not been inspired by anything lately...and it is very upsetting. I'm hoping for a trip to New York City soon, where there I know I'll have a list of things to post. Sorry for not writing in a long time if you have been following...

All I have to say is that I love the unearthen vial necklaces from bonadrag. They are filled with; drops of the pacific ocean, holi powder, and crude oil. I like the almost bullet shell shape of them and the "green" vibe.

DIY

These studded ballet slippers run for $48 on bona drag. I fell in love with them first sight since I take dance. But I knew that I could make these myself! I would much rather pay around twenty dollars for these unique slippers, rather than almost 50. They may not look exactly the same when I am done, but once I make them I will put up the ending results...

Balmain's spring 2010 collection. Featured in Paris Fashion Week. I want to start off saying that this collection is everything that has been building up in my mind for the past months. It's super edgy, but feminine, pretty, and rugged all at the same time. I love the elongated shoulders, and metallic bursts. The overall look of the collection just gives me such inspiration. I would die to own these pieces. This collection is ME in a nutshell. I couldn't even tell you which outfit is my favorite because I love each one in a different way. From head to toe the models are super chic.

This spring/summer seems to be all about ripped and destroyed articles of clothing while glammed up with gems and sequins. Also, extended shoulders and military jackets. These are all great investment pieces that you could wear for years. There is no need to spend a fortune on ripped clothing, it can be a easy DIY project!

Thanks for reading, love you all xox

Studs are my new rhinestones

The boots I am dieing to have. These black studded boots are made by Frye. I love the biker, hardcore look that the boots have. I could make any outfit super edgy or girly with a kick just by wearing these boots. I love love love the vintage feel to them, and the studs just add more glamour. I may just have to start saving to add them to my collection of shoes. They make me all warm and fuzzy inside, and I NEED to have them! My greatest thanks to the Frye company to making such brilliantly versatile shoes!

Oh Kate

Kate's Editorial is 50's glamour; she is flawless. There is something so edgy but feminine about her, that it made me want to turn the page to see if there were more photos. Her loose finger curls in the first picture to the last dark swimsuit demonstrates how versatile she can be. The "signature kate pose" (her chin lifted to either side) draws me in so curiously, whether its love or fierceness in her eyes. Her beauty simply overwhelms me. Kate definitely gets an A+ from me!

shoes

My two favorite new pairs of shoes by Jeffrey Campbell. They make bold bold statements whether its the print, or the overall design of the shoe. The black leather ankle wedged boot gives a futuristic vibe and has hardcore flair. You could pair them with just about anything and it would look great. I am dieing to get a pair of these, or ones like these. The cheetah wedge is a hot new look for summer. I picture myself wearing these with a simple black dress and bold jewelry. You don't really need much going on in the outfit because the shoes are loud enough. But if you want to be more daring you could pair these with leopard print leggings, or a leopard print shirt! Either way, these shoes are brilliant, and will make anything look good! Props to Jeffrey.

Bright lights

New York City; (Buffalo, by David Bitton leather jacket, free people shirt, levis, and of course my bebe sunglasses)
I want to live here one day. I feel at home when I am in the city. But when people ask me what I like so much about it, I really don't know what to say. I really had to think about it and it came down to this:
- The fashion, people are beyond creative
- The architecture, it inspires me to do what I love; art
- Time Square; The bright lights, and "the always on the run" vibe
- Never feeling alone
- The music scene
- Soho
- Great memories
- Broadway shows
- The food, and Sprinkles Cupcakes!!
- How every which way I turn I am amused

There are many more reasons, but it is time for me to hit the sack..I promise to keep up with this more often.

Surround me in warmth

Cage me in

Pamela love's jewelry collection has captured my eye. It is very artsy and it reminds me of myself in a way. The collection is full of things that most people wouldn't have the confidence to wear. Those type of things stand out most to me. I like to have a different style than everyone else, and take more fashion risks. This collection is right up my alley. Lately I have been intrigued by antique-looking jewelry. This line reminds me of Roman times, and Gladiators. All of the silver, and "armor-looking" styles of the jewelry are magnificent. The collection is very simple but yet very detailed at the same time. It makes me wonder what was going through the designers mind while creating these pieces. That is what I love most about Pamela Love's jewelry.

Hong Kong

I am currently watching the movie "Push"..and the Hong Kong fashion has intrigued me to look into it deeper. Hong Kong fashion week 2010 took place in January, and it featured beautiful structured pieces. I was amazed by the creativity the designers put into their overall collections. Guo Pei and Espen Salberg contained some of my favorite looks. Here are a few of the pictures...

My style changes day to day

Topshop clothing that caught my eye
After I did this, I realized that I chose tops within the same color range.
I may not like these items as of tomorrow, but I think that's what makes them so good in the moment...is not knowing what is going to become of these pieces.
Every time I enter a shop, I go in with a new style in mind.
It makes things a lot more unpredictable. I usually end up with pieces that I can be very creative with.

March 25

I haven't written on this in a while. I was reading the local newspaper two days ago, and it had a section about fashion trends. The new "in" style is wearing floral prints. You can wear them in many different ways. But please do not drown yourself in them! Just a cute top, or a skirt is all you need. I would match the top or bottom with the brightest color from the print. Using bright colors makes a person seem very approachable and free spirited. I can not wait to try some of these looks out myself!
