March 25

I haven't written on this in a while. I was reading the local newspaper two days ago, and it had a section about fashion trends. The new "in" style is wearing floral prints. You can wear them in many different ways. But please do not drown yourself in them! Just a cute top, or a skirt is all you need. I would match the top or bottom with the brightest color from the print. Using bright colors makes a person seem very approachable and free spirited. I can not wait to try some of these looks out myself!

I wish I had

Glitzy Glamour
Glitzy Glamour by Jgalvin115 featuring Alexis Bittar jewelry

I recommend going to polyvore.com very good way to put together looks

beautiful, and not so much

So the Oscars were on the other night, and as always i sat with my wonderful mother, and raved about the dresses. One that really caught my eye was Carey Mulligan's dress. She was in a black Prada sequin gown. But when you saw the dress up close it was embellished in swarvoski crystal knives and forks. It made me laugh and gasp at the same time, it was so unique and different, i loved it. She really could pull it off

There were not many women at all that night that i felt met "Oscar standards". Sandra Bullocks gold Marchesa dress was stunning on her. It was purely elegant and reminded me again of what classy should look like. It was sophisticated and proved that she was very confident to wear the piece. The hair and makeup were perfect with the dress and did not over do it at all.

My two last favorite dresses were Elizabeth Banks grey Versace dress, and Demi moores Atelier Versace gown. As you can tell i am a huge fan! Gianni makes Elizabeth's gown look so comfortable and it almost reminds me of a fairy tale for some reason. Where as Demi's dress is a tan color, it still has the same beauty and presence to it as well.

My least favorite dresses of the night were Vera Farminga's hot pink Marchesa gown, and Zoe Saldana's purple Givenchy gown. The colors are gorgeous in themselves, but with Vera's huge ruffles and Zoe's big pom poms the dresses were too distracting. With all do respect, these two ladies are stunning, just not in these dresses.

how pictures inspire me

Taylor Momsen, rocker chicDolce & Gabanna

by Free People

These are some photos that i took around the house, in NYC and other random places. I linked them to outfits i thought reflected them. These looks go with the pictures that i took for pretty obvious reasons. Taylors outfit brings out the structure and the strength of the bridge with her plaid and her dark blue dress. She also adds city flair to her look by putting on aviator sunglasses and wearing her plaid shirt oversized with chunkier boots. Next, As soon as i took the picture of the snowflakes i thought of huge fur coats. This one in particular being Dolce & Gabanna. I am obsessed with this look. It is elegant, and not one person could wear this outfit the same, which is why it resembles the snowflake. As i said before in my previous post, this is what sexy should look like, strong, confident and pure genius. Lastly, the Free People dress. Free People is one of my favorite brands because of the simplicity of their clothing. It is very natural and very comfortable. Their clothing sends off a hippie vibe, and it almost makes me happier when i am wearing their clothes. The simplicity of the tree and the dress match perfectly.

Why Why Why?

Taking a day away from school has let me take a step back and look at things from a different point of view. Why do girls insist on wearing shirts that show their cleavage and skin tight jeans? What makes people wear the clothes that they do? Almost about 90% of people(girls) in my school wear jeans and a tee shirt everyday. That seems to be what American culture is about: being laid back, and easy going.. But it doesn't do anything good for me. It doesn't describe how someone is feeling, or what they are interested in. I feel as if all people in high school are robots and are following what everyone else is doing and wearing. They are scared to take risks, and to put on a statement piece. Almost everyone in my school wears hollister, abercrombie, pac sun or hot topic. But what is so good about those stores? Yes i shop at them, but i put the clothing together in ways that other people wouldn't. I get stares at school for wearing camouflage leggings, an olive green dress and a long knit sweater. All from the same stores that they shop at. The only difference is i am my own person and put things together differently than everyone else. Camouflage is in now and i am surprised at some of the comments i got from wearing them...But honestly i didn't care. I knew i rocked the look, and so what if half the people in my humongous school didn't like my outfit. I did!!! Fashion is a way for me to show how i am feeling without saying anything.
I just get so frustrated thinking about girls who think that being sexy is showing skin, skin and more skin. Where i believe that Chanel is one of the sexiest designers out there. The sophistication and elegance shows what a women should be about. It shows a put together women, who is confident and cares about her self image. From the very first classic hats that she made, to the pencil skirts. Those pieces are still hugely in fashion and will never go out because of the huge impact she made in many peoples lives just by designing simple yet elegant items. For example, the new "it" piece in Seventeen Magazine is a jean pencil skirt with ruffles at the top. You can turn that into any fashion category you want. You can make it preppy, edgy or even Gothic. What people dont get is that you can be cool and fit in with wearing what you want, and putting your own twist on it. I advice that to anyone and or everyone who will ever read this. It makes a person seem more interesting, and more confident in them self.

It has been four days since i have gotten my wisdom teeth out, and i am still sitting on the couch. I have been reading fashion magazines and looking at fashion blogs. I decided to start my own. I have no idea where to start. Something that has really caught my eye lately is the rocker edgy look. It can be done so easily and inexpensively. I always thought that you had to have designer clothes to get these looks down pat. But i realized that that's not the case. Forever 21 stores have many things with studs and lace, to add the rocker flair to your style. I am going to take a deeper look into fashion magazines and stores to see what other cheap things i can find to accomplish my goal. By the way, every girl needs a leather jacket, or blazer, it can make any outfit rocker chic.
